JAMMU, July 14: Underlining commitment of the Government to develop Jammu city on most modern lines, Minister of State for Education, Information and Culture Priya Sethi said the coalition Government is steadfast on its resolve to address development aspirations of people of the State and special focus is being paid to equip Winter Capital with all required urban infrastructure.
She said the Government is paying focused attention to develop capital cities on the lines of metro cities and modern infrastructure projects have been launched for the purpose.
She was speaking at a function organised by residents of Rajinder Nagar and adjoining areas of Ward number 19, here today.
The joint felicitation function was organised by the residents to welcome and felicitate Priya and Senior Leader Yudhvir Sethi.
Appreciating the overwhelming faith posed by people during the Assembly elections, Priya said that history has been created in the state and all out efforts are being made by the elected representatives to come up to the expectations of the people. She said Ministers, MLAs and local leaders are working round the clock to ensure that demands of people are addressed on priority and all out efforts are being made to give voice to those who were earlier not heard in the corridors of power.
“Exemplary initiatives have been taken in the first hundred days of the present Government and the agenda of development forged between coalition partners would be implemented in true spirit,” she added.
She said special focus would be given to address issues pertaining to women and youth, adding that different welfare schemes and programs have been launched for women, old age, widow and other vulnerable groups of society.
“The Prime Minister has launched special programs to reach out to those who were earlier unheard and series of initiatives like PM Jan Dhan Yojna, Atal launched Pension Yojna, PM Suraksha Bima Yojna and Jeevan Joti Bima Yojna have been launched,” she added.
She said education sector has shown considerable improvement in the recent past and good results are coming from government run schools. She said transparent transfer policy and new education policy have been designed keeping to revamp education sector in the State.
Addressing the gathering, Yudhvir Sethi said the overwhelming support of people towards giving decisive mandate to the party has resulted in a historic coalition in the State which is based on the agenda of development, corruption free and a transparent Government. He said people have voted to establish an enabling environment for all round economic development of the State and prosperity of the people.
“Our Government has been formed to jointly work for taking forward all the three regions of the State on the path of peace, progress and prosperity,” he added.
