Srinagar, May 13: A Government middle school and sub-district hospital was today damaged due to strong winds that wreaked havoc in Tanghdar area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Locals said the wind damaged windowpanes of the school and hospital after an almond tree fell on the school building. They said the strong wind left thousands of people without power supply amid smashed rooftops, uprooted trees and toppled power lines.
The area was also lashed by heavy rains after wind thereby inundating the main roads as well as the link roads of villages. No loss of life or injury was reported during the strong wind.
