SRINAGAR : Taking a jibe at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) party chief Asaduddin Owaisi row, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah asked if Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti will be asked to chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ as a condition for Government formation in the state.
“Is Mehbooba Mufti also going to be asked to chant #BharatMataKiJai as a condition for Govt formation in J&K? cc @BJP4India #Maharashtra,” Mr Abdullah, who is the working president of National Conference (NC), wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
Political tempers are running high after Mr Owaisi said that he would never chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ even if a knife is put to his throat. Meanwhile, an AIMIM legislature was suspended from Maharashtra Assembly after he refused to chant Bharat Mata Ki Jai. (AGENCIES)
