KATHUA, Oct 2: Wildlife Week organised by Department of Wildlife Protection, Wildlife Division, Kathua commenced today.
The objective for observance of Wildlife Week is to create awareness among to all the sections of people and target groups about importance of wildlife conservation and their habitat.
A villagers meet was organized today at school compound complex Khoon Tehsil Majhalta, in which the Sarpachs and Panchs, eminent persons, villagers and local women participated.
Wildlife related issues were taken up during the discussion about man-wild animal conflict in different parts of the Khoon and the adjoining areas.
Wildlife Warden, Kathua, Saleem addressed the gathering and emphasised what precautions have to be taken during the man-wild animal conflicts. He appealed the gathering for their active involvement for joint participating approach in wildlife conservation.
Among others who spoke were Ex MLA Sunku Ram, Ramesh Kumar, Chain Singh, Mohd Salim, Sarpanchs and various prominent persons.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Noor Mohd, Range Officer, Wildlife Mansar.
