DPR of 6 GB Hostels formulated: Naaz

SRINAGAR, Oct 2: A colorful farewell function was held at Gujjar Bakerwal Girls Hostel Srinagar to accord a send off to fourteen girl students of Gujjar Bakerwal Girls Hostel Srinagar who after completion of their studies up to 12th standard will be leaving the hostel during the current session.
Vice Chairman State Advisory Board for the Development of Gujjar Bakerwal, Ch. Bashir Naaz was the chief guest on this occasion.  Besides the programme was attended by MLC Oberoi, Members State Advisory Board for the Development of Gujjar Bakerwal, Ch. Mohammed Sadeeq, Ch. Mohd Yaseen Poswal, Ch. Munshi Gorsi and Begum Jan, Jt. Director Planning, B.A. Makhdoomi, Ali Mohammed Dar, ZEO, Parvez Ahmed ZEPO, Mohammed Shafi Dar retired DIG prosecution and parents of hostel inmates and the children of the hostel.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr. Naaz said that the dream of Indira Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of India, Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah, the then Chief Minister J&K and Madr-e-Meharban, the then Vice Chairman of State Advisory Board for the Development of Gujjar Bakerwal seems coming true by which they had opened the Gujjar Bakerwal Hostel in J&K.
Mr. Naaz  said that these hostels have played pivotal role in the educational development in Gujjar Bakerwal community especially the women’s  education got a boost by these hostels.
Vice Chairman also announced Rs. 1000 for each outgoing student and prayed that the students of this community may progress in education and other areas of life.  He said that DPR of six GB (Girls and Boys) Hostels involving an amount of about Rs 750 crore have been prepared which will be furnished to the Govt. of India by the State Government for requisite funding.
He also announced that efforts are being made to upgrade three Boys and Girls Hostel in which the students will stay up to graduation, so that the objective of the Government to eradicate the educational backwardness in the community is achieved.  He also hoped that the students will exhibit sense of utmost discipline, dedication and hardwork towards their education and morale values so that the expectations of the society with these students are met with.
Highlighting the role of the Coalition Government, he said that it is committed for all round development of the Gujjar Bakerwal community.  He expressed that GB Girls Hostel Rajouri, Poonch and Kulgam, GB Boys Hostel Samba & Bandipora and PG Hostel Jammu have already been approved by the Government which are being opened shortly.
