DODA, May 17: Wildlife Protection Department here today rescued an Asiatic Black Bear after the animal got trapped in a water tank at Machan Beoli area.
Soon after receiving information from local residents, the Wildlife Protection Department activated its rescue team which rushed to the spot with necessary rescue equipment. The team carried out a coordinated rescue operation and safely retrieved the bear from the water tank.
Range Officer Wildlife Protection Department Doda, Shahper Iqbal, said the department acted swiftly after receiving the information and all necessary safety protocols were followed during the rescue operation to ensure safety of both the animal and the public.
He further informed that after the rescue, the black bear was observed to be in stable condition and was subsequently shifted to Rescue and Trauma centre Bindraban Kishtwar for medical check up.
The rescue operation was carried out under the supervision of Wildlife Warden M.S Jamwal.
