Widening the scope of Ayushman Bharat scheme

At the outset, what is required to be ensured by the UT Government of Jammu and Kashmir is whether there is appreciable progress in issuance of PMJAY cards to people under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna as the eligibility under the scheme has been extended to all citizens . The fact of the matter is that there is very little percentage having got it while most of the people have not, as the procedure needs to be streamlined and smoothened for getting the PMJAY cards by one and all to lend the due importance and utility to the flagship scheme of health insurance. That apart, the scheme has now been made more wide in scope as more ailments , nearly 90 have been brought under the ambit of the scheme including pacemaker implantation , endovascular treatment and the like.
New Health Benefit packages and prospects of clubbing of surgical medical packages in the Transaction Management System are also on the anvil in order to see that more facilities were provided under the scheme. The decision of adding 90 more ailments in the AB scheme is naturally a good news for the card holders but the thrust must be on how at the required stage and at the ultimate point, the scheme really worked in the empanelled hospitals for which a robust monitoring mechanism must be at work. Hassles free , quick and transparent implementation is what is required of the high promising Health Scheme.
