Whither Guest Control order?

Sir,
An order was issued by the J&K Govt. on February 21 restricting “injudicious use of essential commodities during social, government and private functions”. The order put various limits on the number of guests and stalls at a marriage function.
The order further put complete ban on the use of big generator sets, high pitch sound amplifiers, loud speakers, decks, profuse lightning, bursting of crackers etc. Any misdemeanour of the order was said to be punished with a jail term of 3-months to one year. This order seems to have fallen flat on its face as have the previous and similar orders of years 2004 and 1973, as the traffic jams, the crackers, the loud music and wastage of resources are still the same as they were last year.
Since these orders have repeatedly failed to check pompous marriages one begins to doubt the on-ground validity of such orders.
Till the time they issue a similar order again, one can satisfy oneself by believing that the order came into force on April 1, 2017, the April Fool’s Day.
Yours etc…
