Wheat remains weak on reduced offtake by flour mills

NEW DELHI, Aug 4: Wheat prices eased by Rs 10 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today due to reduced offtake by flour mills against sufficient stocks position.
However, maize edged up on scattered demand from consuming industries.
Traders said easing demand from flour mills against adequate stocks position mainly kept wheat prices lower.
In the national capital, Wheat dara (for mills) shed Rs 10 to Rs 1,975-1,980 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and enquired lower by a similar margin to Rs 1,985-1,990 per 90 kg.
Atta flour mills, maida and sooji also eased by Rs 10 each to Rs 1,070-1,090, Rs 1,170-1,180 and Rs 1,200-1,210 per 50 kg, respectively, in line with wheat trend.
On the other hand, maize traded higher by Rs 30 to Rs 1,350-1,355 per quintal.
