Wheat futures remain up on increased demand

NEW DELHI, June 15: Wheat prices strengthened by 0.11 per cent to Rs 1,794 per quintal in futures market today as speculators engaged in enlarging their positions amid pick up in demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, wheat for delivery in July edged up by Rs 2, or 0.11 per cent to Rs 1,794 per quintal with an open interest of 9,340 lots.

Analysts said widening of positions by traders following pick-up in demand in the physical market and a pause in arrivals from producing belts, mainly kept wheat prices higher at futures trade. (PTI)
