What after completion of quarantine days?

If unavoidable mandatory days of undergoing days of quarantine in respect of the fight against COVID-19 , are passed ‘successfully’ by a suspected person or otherwise, a proper follow up action should be undertaken by the authorities and not invite unaffordable problems like protests, hunger strikes etc by the “aggrieved ones”. There are more than 240 persons of Jammu and Kashmir including daily rated labourers and private sector employees who have completed more than 14 days in quarantine in Sujanpur in Pathankot Punjab but have not been allowed by the Punjab administration to go home. As a mark of protest and a measure to be heard, they have been on hunger strike.
Again, there are 3000 labourers of Bani tehsil in Kathua district, in the private sector working in states like the Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh etc are stranded at various places across these states since March 24, following imposition of lockdown and want to go home but are currently oscillating between hope and despair. It is, however, a matter of relief that the Deputy Commissioner Kathua visited the quarantine centre and has assuaged the protesting people of measures being taken in arranging their home return. Sujanpur quarantine centre in Pathankot Punjab needs to be properly scrutinised to relieve those who having completed the quarantine period and otherwise being physically normal so that they could proceed to their native places. Proper follow -up is needed in such cases to make lockdown and quarantining measures meaningful and result oriented rather than just trifling formalities.
