JAMMU, Dec 24: West Pakistan Hindu Refugee Front, J&K held a protest at SIDCO Chowk, Bari Brahmana.
Raising slogans against the hurriyat and separatist leaders, the protesters burnt their effigies.
The protesters condemned the statement of hurriyat and separatist leaders of not to issue domicile certificate to the West Pakistan Hindu refugees as proposed by the J&K Government and send these refugees back to Pakistan. They termed the statement as an act of inhuman and controversial stand against the Hindus residing in Jammu.
For the first time in the history, the State Government has decided to provide Identity Cards identical to the domicile certificate to the West Pakistan Refugees, which will facilitate them to get enrolment in the central forces as well as in other jobs in the Central Government Departments and also get benefit of PM Special Scholarship Scheme, the protestors added.
They said that these Hindu refugees so far do not have any identity certificate issued by the State Government, adding that these refugees are entitled to vote for Parliamentary election in J&K and are having valid ration cards.
These refugees are also paying proper tax for the houses where they are living and also for the land under their custody duly allotted by the J&K Government, which depicts that these refugees are resident of J&K and very much entitled to domicile certificate.
The protest was organized under the chairmanship of Sub Maj Madan Lal Dubgotra, President and Sanjeev Adgotra, Vice President, while Mool Raj Gupta, Pankaj Slathia and other West Pakistani Hindu Refugees were also present.
