JAMMU, Sept 15: Residents of Baba Farid Nagar, Kunjwani, today constituted a body under the name and style of ‘Kashmir Sikh Welfare Society’.
The body was constituted during a meeting of the residents held here today under the chairmanship of Dr Manjit Singh (Ex-Joint Director).
The meeting unanimously elected Dr Manjit Singh as president, Avtar Singh and Karan Singh as vice-presidents, Sukhbir Singh as general secretary, Davinder Singh and Satinder Singh as joint secretaries, Amardeep Singh as office secretary, Ratan Singh as treasurer, Paramjit Singh as publicity secretary and Kulant Singh as spokesperson.
Later, local MLA, Dr Kamal Arora, who was a special invitee on the occasion, was apprised of the problems being faced by the residents by the members of the newly constituted welfare society. The MLA gave a patient hearing to the demands and assured to redress them in a time bound manner.
