Weather improves, temp rises

SRINAGAR, Apr 20: After three days of wet weather during which Kashmir was lashed by rains and its hills received snow, the weather improved today with temperatures rising across the region and settling above normal.
As the sun came out today, Srinagar settled at a maximum of 23.5 degree Celsius which is 2.7 degree Celsius above normal for the city for this time of the year.
Qazigund recorded a maximum of 24.8 degree Celsius which is 3.8 degree Celsius above normal, Pahalgam recorded a maximum of 20.4 degree Celsius which is 2.5 degree Celsius above normal for the tourist resort, Kupwara recorded a maximum of 21.6 degree Celsius which is 0.4 degree Celsius above normal, Kokarnag recorded a maximum 22.8 degree Celsius which is 3.7 degree Celsius above normal and Gulmarg recorded a maximum 13.2 degree Celsius which is 2.6 degree Celsius above normal for the Ski resort.
The Weatherman forecast mostly dry weather conditions across the region till April 23.
“Partly to generally cloudy with one or two brief spells of light rain/thundershower at scattered to many places with gusty winds at few places towards late afternoon/evening hours for April 24 to April 25,” he said.
