WC: Maxwell reminds India of winless streak vs Aussies

SYDNEY :  Ahead of Thursday’s ICC Cricket World Cup semi-final against India, Australia have started playing their mind-games with maverick batsman Glenn Maxwell today reminding the Men in Blue of their winless streak against the hosts this summer.
After a poor Test and tri-series Down Under, the defending champions have been invincible in the World Cup but a confident Maxwell feels that his side can take advantage of their earlier dominance over Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s side.    “I think we targetted them pretty well this summer. They haven’t won a game against us all through the summer. Hopefully that is pretty clear in their memories,” Maxwell said.    “We can make the most of that (all win record). We have been dominant all summer in the ODI format. We want to continue that,” added he.
The promising right-hander, however, heaped praises on the Indian side for its consistency and also warned the Kangaroos against any complacency when they take the field on Thursday.    “India are a very good side. They wouldn’t be here in the semi-finals if they weren’t a good side. We have to bring our A game when we play them this week,” said he.    Maxwell, who has been one of the star attractions in the Indian Premier League (IPL), said his role in the Australian line-up is very much different from what he does for his franchise in the IPL.
