JAMMU, Jan 11: PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PHDCCI) today formally appointed Rakesh Wazir, president of Hotel & Restaurant Association (HRA), Katra and Member, Tourism Advisory Board, J&K Government, as its co-chairman for Jammu region by National president of Chamber, Anil Khaitan, in a simple but impressive function held at New Delhi.
Khaitan while speaking on the occasion said that Chamber acts as a catalyst in the promotion of industry, trade and entrepreneurship through its research-based policy and advocacy role which positively impacts the economic growth and development of the nation and is more than an organization of the business community.
He said that with the coming of Wazir as its co -chairman for Jammu region, who have got vast experience of the industry in his different capacities including Advisor of India Tourism Development Corporation, president, Hotel Association, Member, Tourism Advisory Board etc, the chamber will strengthen further in Jammu region and in the coming days the chamber will have its strong presence right from Banihal to Lakhanpur in one direction and from Doda & Kishtwar to Poonch in other.
Rakesh Wazir, while speaking on the occasion, said that he is feeling honoured in getting associated with this 113-year old organization which have got a long history and have contributed a lot in the nation building.
Prominent among others who were present from PHDCCI include Saurabh Sanyal, Secretary General; Vivek Seigell, Principal Director, Rohit Kumar, Director (States & SDC); Jaison Chacko, Deputy Secretary (States & SDC) and Atul K Thakur, Deputy Secretary (States & SDC).
