Water supply to remain hit in Jammu City for 2-3 days

JAMMU, July 10: The water supply to several parts of Jammu City shall remained affected for a couple of days in view of muddy water in river Tawi and low efficiency of water filtration plants.
A senior officer Jal Shakti Department (Mech Urban Circle, Jammu) said that due to heavy rain in the upper reaches, there is very high turbidity in the river Tawi, feeding the main water treatment plants of Jammu City, due to which the filtration plants are functioning at a low efficiency.
Due to reduction in the efficiency of the filtration plants, the water supply is likely to remain affected in many localities of Jammu City (North) for the next couple of days. The people are advised to use water judiciously, the officer added.
