MENDHAR, May 23: Member Legislative Assembly Mendhar, Javed Rana today rolled out his plan for a ‘Model Gursai Block’ and announced that a water supply scheme to the tune of Rs 4.5 crore has been sanctioned for meeting water scarcity.
Addressing public meeting in Gursai area of Mendhar today, the MLA of Mendhar said that this area consisting of seven Panchayats is densely populated but facing water crisis since long.
The people of the area raised their problems before the MLA and sought his intervention in resolving the same. Water and power crisis besides poor condition of various roads were the major issues.
The MLA expressed his resolve to develop Gursai as a ‘Model Block’ of the district and said that all the issues of the people will be resolved. He announced that a major water supply worth Rs 4.5 crore has been sanctioned for this whole area and the scheme will reduce water related problems to a major extent.
Mr Rana also declared that in the process of making Gursai as Model block, Rs 11 crore from different heads will be released shortly while funds to the tune of Rs 4 crore under PMDP will also be released.
While terming vibrant bureaucracy and proactive officials as a need for development, Mr Rana asked officers of administration to follow the footprints of District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Dr Shahid Iqbal and asked Deputy Commissioner Poonch to ensure that work culture in all government institutions is improved.
He also said that carelessness on the part of any Government official will be taken seriously.
