RAJOURI , May 28: The water supply has remained disrupted in Rajouri township since yesterday as the PHE Department was unable to remove the blockage of water pipe which passes through a residential house in Dhani Dhar area.
According to PHE authorities the water is supplied to Rajouri town from PHE Filtration plant Dhani Dhar through an eight inch dia pipe. The area where from pipe has been laid is the State land. However it has been encroached by one person who constructed his residential house in the area. The water supply pipe got blocked in the same area and the PHE employees who visited the house to remove the blockage could not do the same as the house owner did not open his gate due to which water supply remained paralyzed in entire town putting people to hardships in this hot season.
The DC Rajouri Shabir Ahmed Bhat who is in Srinagar has taken serious exception to it and warned strict action against the house owner who has locked the gate and did not allow the PHE employees to perform their duty.
DC has urged the authorities to restore water supply to the town so that people are not put to further trouble.
