JAMMU, July 20: On the call of left parties, the Regional Committee of CPI (M), held a day long protest here against involvement of Union Ministers, Chief Ministers and Ministers of BJP-led-State Governments in corruption and in various scams as well.
Large number of party workers from different locations of Jammu gathered at Press Club here and raised slogans against Modi Government.
While addressing the gathering, Sham Prasad Kesar, Regional Secretary said that the PDP-BJP coalition Government in the State has failed on all fronts. He expressed concern over the un-scheduled power cuts and drinking water crises, adding that no improvement has been seen in water and power supply and it worsened after the coalition took over.
Kesar demanded adequate compensation to the people whose houses, land and standing crops were damaged in recent floods and cloudburst.
“All the claims made by the BJP and the Prime Minister that during the course of this one year the NDA Government has offered a corruption free administration are being thoroughly exposed”, he added.
“In the Lalit Modi IPL scam, the Union Minister for External Affairs and the Rajasthan Chief Minister have figured as persons grossly misusing their office to help a fugitive from Indian Law, Lalit Modi. The Union Minister for Human Resource Development has given a false statement regarding her educational qualifications. Cases of misuse of office for pecuniary gains have come up in the BJP ruled State of Maharashtra, involving two BJP State Ministers. In other BJP ruled States like Chattisgarh such instances of high level corruption are also being reported”, he remarked.
He demanded CBI investigation in these cases and removal of all tainted Ministers in the Centre and the States till investigations complete.
Om Parkash, general secretary, State Committee CITU, while speaking said that the admission and recruitment scam in the State of Madhya Pradesh has exposed the BJP State Government.
Among others present were Kishore Kumar, Banarsi Dass, Seva Ram Bhagat, VK Vaid, Sohan Lal, Muneer Wani, Pushkar, Sunita Bhagat, etc.
