Sir,
The severe water crisis in Jammu has significantly disrupted daily life. Many areas receive water only once a week, forcing residents to purchase expensive water from private tankers.
This situation is dire, especially during the sweltering summer months. Despite repeated complaints, the authorities have not provided a sustainable solution. The construction of eight new tube-wells is a positive step, but immediate action is crucial. The Jal Shakti Department must ensure regular water supply and expedite the operationalization of the new tube-wells. Additionally, a consistent schedule and adequate pressure must be maintained to alleviate the residents’ suffering. It is imperative that the authorities prioritize this issue to restore normalcy.
