Whenever,wherever and whichever side one goes around, one comes across waste litters oblique garbage (kuda- karkat) found dumped oblique flying and floating around. The could not careless attitude of the general public generally lacks logic and amounts to ill mannerism.See for yourself, you need not be told. Bad to worse and chaotic situation, the unplanned dumping oblique throwing of garbage creates.Creating totally unhealthy envirionment.Even at times it becomes very difficult to move around without putting handkerchief or a piece of cloth on your mouth to avoid rotten or foul smell getting inside your mouth and nose. Go along the streets oblique lanes or byelanes, seen are the litters and litters all around. Oh my god really a bad scene. Further nuisance is created when stray dogs or stray animals carry the same litters and it is spread here and there flying or floating. A total avoidable nonsense.People are not self disciplined or self motivated to take correct corrective actions and to ensure general tip-top cleanliness of the surroundings around them . Due to their stubborn ill mannerism the problem gets further compounded.
The surroundings can be kept cleaned and tip- top, and is possible without much problem provided public cooperates and is determined to take suitable corrective actions. But , the problem is everybody feels why should I or why should he oblique we do.Here we all are wrong. Let us all do it and let others emulate us , should be the approach, a positive approach. But, alas people fail to apply wisdom.But yes some educated people will definitely not commit this horrible mistake, a mistake which should never be committed for the benefit of all, and which shall stand us all in good stead .But, we too falter in not educating others around us, which we must not and infact persistently educate all as a part of our civic and unchartered duty.
The State Government and the municipal corporation has done enough in this regard.But still lot needs to be done.People dump the garbage wherever they feel like at will, which actually should be avoided under all costs.Alas, we citizens donot behave as responsible citizens .A sham. A great shame in the name of humanity.
The nullahs and the drainage system around a locality, many a time remain choked , primarily due to throwing or dumping of garbage inside by the local inhabitants. This certainly reflects irresponsible behaviour of citizens, which should never be done.What a shame? Due to this irresponsible behaviour , especially during rainy season, the nullahs or drainage system gets fully choked which causes blockage, overflow and become a cause of mini floods and thus water gushing into residential houses and causes huge financial loss to the residents, in addition to causing panic and chaotic situation and puts the state administration also out of gear.All this can be avoided provided the citizens behave as reponsible citizens and become self disciplined to ensure that the litters oblique the garbage is dumped at the designated places (use of centrally placed dustbins or garbage pits) only.It is heartening to note that some citizens definitely do what is required to be done.Such citizens need applaud. We all can emulate these citizens to ensure garbage is disposed off at the earmarked places only to avoid subsequent problems as discussed above. Some of the suggested methods to tackle the waste nuisance oblique meace are:-
In the very first place let us become responsible and learn whys and hows of the cleanliness and educate ourselves.
Let us become self disciplined and self motivated for the benefit of all.
Let us all unite, learn and accept that cleanliness living is always good for the society at large, which is the definite requirement too. So to keep the surroundings neat and clean(spick and span) is very important.
Let us unanimously decide that cleanliness living is the need and is a national cause and the locality cause too.
Let us educate all and generate interest to keep the area tip-top and create general awareness among the masses.
Explain to all the benefits of cleanliness and healthy living.
Regular and proper use of designated garbage pits and dustbins.
Municipal corporation to remove the dustbins on timely basis, which is very important, before these get overfilled and start overflowing and litters get spread all around and become cause of avoidable nuisance.
The people and the corporation must work in tandem.
The handling of stray animals and dogs , call it the stray dogs and animals menace under arrangements of municipal corporation.
To educate the society personnel under local corporator arrangements.He can take support of society members.All corporators are intelligent enough and are well connected on ground with the society members and are equally talented to tackle the menace and best they can.So , doubt them not.
The corporators be tasked by the Chairman in black and white to ensure general cleanliness in their respective wards. The corporators must cooperate and perform and they are highly capable.Believe it.
The corporators be further tasked to conduct social programmes in their respective area of jurisdiction to educate people and better they can as they are well connected with the local population on day to day basis. our corporator of Our ward no 70,sainik colony as a case in point is quite energetic and really helpful at solving any problem reported or requested to him either personally or on hone.Further more he takes daily regular rounds of his ward and do meet people personally and enjoys good reputation with the public . He is on one to one contact basis with the people of his ward. This is very good thing and is highly capable and very efficient at resolving problems on day to day basis. He infact is a role model coroprator.He is a go getter.
Regular inspection of the area from time to time under arrangements of , Chairman corporation will definitely pay rich dividends.
Strict instructions to kabadis under arrangements, Chairman corporation that they should only use their own premises and donot allow them to spread the litters on the road.If they do it despite the instructions challan or fine them.
NGO’s can be asked to educate people and educate them to the extent to become role model citizens.
Some people on voluntary basis do try to educate people around to keep the surroundings neat and clean and explain them the benefits of doing so ,too. In fact we all must do and pull in the same direction for better results and healthy environment. Please note.
We the people and the Government of the people and for the people must work together towards the genuine cause by creating general awareness and ensuring no muck or huge heaps of waste around.
My neighbor(DSP) has taken good initiative on his own to have put two boards(residential area, help us keep it clean) outside his house on the round about primarily requesting the general public to help keep the surrounding areas neat and clean. His initiative deserves praise and cooperation from all and sundry staying around.
There are people who take steps as deemed fit to keep the surroundings neat and clean. Others should emulate and copy such role model people.
We all want clean environment and clean surroundings, good for all of us , a healthy environment is the definite requirement . So let us all cooperate and support the government, which is doing its very best, but not finding success of its schemes so undertaken to keep the surroundings spick and span.Remember, we all together can and we all together are a reckonable force. We expect cooperation and support of all , a clarion call please to keep the surrounding areas pollution free. So please remeber, united we stand and divided we fall.Please come forward and let us all together make the Sawatch Bharat programme kamyaab, a call of Central Government.Good people and good healthy society is the aim.
