SRINAGAR, Dec 22: Jammu and Kashmir High Court today issued bailable warrants against Commissioner Secretary to Government PWD(R&B) Tanvir Jehan for defying the orders of the court and directed the SSP to execute it.
In a contempt petition Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir today issued bailable warrants against Commissioner Secretary PWB(R&B) for not implementing the orders of the court in its letter and spirit.
Court had earlier directed for complying the order of the court with regard to release of amount of Rs. 80.73 lakhs in favour of petitioner for execution of work with a rider that Commissioner Secretary shall appear in person in default to explain the delay in complying the court order.
Today when the matter was taken up and considered it has been stated that court orders are not being complied the respondents (alleged contemnors) and Commissioner Secretary was supposed to appear in person in terms of previous order.
For not complying the orders of the court and not appearing in person before the court, Justice Mir directed bailable of warrants to the tune of Rs.10000 to be executed by concern SSP.
