Srinagar, May 5: A TADA Court today issued non-bailable arrest warrants against four persons, two of them proprietors of pharmaceutical companies, for their appearance before it in connection with a complaint of supplying substandard bandage to SKIMS here.
Hearing the complaint filed by Drug and Food Control organization, Additional district judge TADA Court Srinagar, Sikender Azam, designated Special Court for spurious and adulterated drugs, directed the concerned SSPs to execute the warrants and produce the accused before the court on May 31.
The warrants were issued against Sanjay Ahuja son of Pritam Ahuja, Proprietor M/s Aroma Surgical House, Delhi Road, Model town, Rohtak; Syed Ahmad son of Abdul Majeed resident of Prithvigunj Kanth Moradabad UP, Proprietor M/s Standard Surgical Dressings Company, Dhampur Moradabad; Sageer Bakhsh Qadri son of Mirza Bakhah Qadri of Mohalla Darbar Sadat Dhampur Bijnour, Analytical Chemist, M/s Standard Surgical Dressings Company and Mohammad Haneef son of Abdul Haneef R/o Mohalla Darbar Sadat Town Nahtor Tehsil Dhampur Bijnour, Manufacturing Chemist, M/s Standard Surgical Dressings Company.
In the compliant, drug inspector has said that on August 2, 2012, he lifted the sample of drug namely Standard Handloom Rolled Bandage non-sterilized (batch numbers 34, 35, 36) and based on analysis, it turned out to be ‘not of standard quality’.
“Besides not of standard quality, the bandage rolls were found to be underweight, shorter in length as well as breadth”, the Drug Inspector writes in his complaint.
