JAMMU, Aug 25:Urging the Government to take cue from the recent landmark judgment of Allahabad High Court regarding the enrolment of children of Government employees and Legislatures in Government schools, Chairman JKTF and president EJAC, Abdul Qayoom Wani said that it was high time for Government to streamline the Education sector in the State of Jammu & Kashmir.
“The landmark decision has opened a window for the Government to improve the quality of education in the State and the opportunity should not be let go waste,” he said and appealed the Civil society also to impress upon the Government to take a call on it.
EJAC president urged State Government to take a suo motto view of the order and take a decision for the implementation of the Allahabad court decision in J&K also. The JKTF Chairman however said that if Govt fails to take a call on the issue, the Teachers Forum would itself approach the State High Court with a public Interest Litigation appealing it to direct the J&K Government to follow the suit.
Improving the quality of Education sector in the State cannot be done only by asking ReT teachers to go through the screening test but the Government has to make the State schools at par with the Private ones in terms of infrastructure and other facilities, he added.
