Wake up BJP

Sir,
Apropos Mr K B Jandial’s article in your esteemed daily dated 25 May 2015 in which he has asked BJP to explain (i)  why not AIIMS & Lake in Jammu and (ii) why the AIIMS in Kashmir, when they have the mandate, enough political clout and constitutional authority to prevent any tampering with these projects. He has aptly advised the BJP leadership to review their stand. Thank you Mr. Jandial for raising the issue forcefully. Bigger force flows out from Bar Association Jammu (BAJ) which has taken up the cudgels to safeguard Jammu’s interests. BAJ needs to be complimented for its loyalty to Jammu.
Mr Jandial says, “in no case the struggle is anti Kashmir or anti Mufti”. If that is true, the struggle is pro Jammu. 70 apolitical outfits under the wings of BAJ is a great force to fight for Jammu if channelized properly. BAJ can collectively take on the collective Kashmiri hegemonic leadership. United we stand, divided we fall. Jammu’s tragedy is that it has not learnt anything from Kashmiris.  27th May’s protest, led by BAJ, less BJP, is understandable because of Rajnath Singh’s visit but in future BJP should support BAJ for the common cause directly / indirectly. I am sure BJP will not led down Jammu which has given it strength and power. The fact that BJP has formed the govt with PDP of diverse ideology is for long term strategic gains does not mean they surrender AIIMS & Lake. I am sure Jammu will not rest till the mist is cleared.
Delhi continues fighting a losing battle in Kashmir. We may win military war with Pakistan, but political battle with Kashmir seems invincible. Let Jammu not be offensive to Kashmir and be a loser. Jammu should fight for Jammu only. “BJP still can retrieve its lost ground if it handles the challenges with maturity”, says Mr Jandial. To my mind BJP has not lost the ground yet. It is just slipping away.  It is the time for  it to hold its ground and fight for Jammu strategically with BAJ as suggested by Mr Jandial who deserves credit for detailed analysis ‘Jammu versus BJP’.
Yours etc….
Col J P Singh, Retd
