JAMMU, Oct 26: As exclusively reported by the Excelsior yesterday, the Centre Government today approved 3-month extension in the services of Chief Secretary BB Vyas beyond November 30.
An order to this effect was issued today by the Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
Vyas, who is due to retire on November 30, would now have services up to February 28, 2018.
However, according to sources, his services could be extended by another three months after February 28 making it an extension of six months, which is maximum, and will take his services up to May 31.
Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had on August 25, 2017 written to the Centre seeking extension of six months in the services of Vyas beyond November 30.
Excelsior had yesterday exclusively reported that the Centre has agreed to the State Government proposal for extension in the services of BB Vyas.
