REASI, Apr 10: Senior Congress leader and party’s Lok Sabha candidate from Udhampur-Doda-Kishtwar Constituency Vikramaditya Singh today charged the sitting MP and Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh with failure on all fronts and said that vote in favour of Congress would l be vote for peace, progress and prosperity of all.
Addressing series of public meetings in Reasi district, he lambasted the sitting MP and Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh for grossly neglecting the Reasi belt. “It is ironical that the BJP MP who never gets tired of boasting his own so called ‘colossal achievements’ which are ‘missing’ on the ground, is unaware of the miseries being faced by the people of this region, who have nominal access to basic amenities like power, drinking water, ration, health care facilities, good schools, roads, etc,” he said.
“Except announcements and proclamations about Achhe Din, Dr Jitendra Singh has done nothing substantial for the people of Reasi who are still forced to travel to Jammu even for the treatment of common fever as facilities in Reasi are namesake,” he added.
Promising to highlight the plight of people of the whole constituency in the Parliament in right perspective and not just by hollow slogans like BJP, Vikramaditya Singh said that his sole mission would be to give succour to the people of remote hamlets and far off areas by providing basic facilities at their doorsteps and to ensure that no one is deprived of his or her right to live a dignified life. Seeking people’s support in the ensuing Lok Sabha election, he said, “Vote in favour of Congress will be vote for peace, progress and prosperity of all, and I will do everything to satiate the expectations of electorate with no compromise at all”.
Stating that yesterday’s Kishtwar killings was an attempt to disturb ongoing Lok Sabha election process, Vikramaditya Singh appealed all voters not to get deterred and come out in large numbers to vote for change.
