RAJOURI, Aug 26: Continuing its efforts to take theatre to peoples doorsteps, Vomedh Rangmanch, the prominent theatre group of J&K, staged the 7th episode of its fortnightly Terrace Theatre Series at Rajouri Lines in Vasuki Vihar where it’s famous play “Daye Senz Daygath”, written by Ravinder Dhar and directed by Rohit Bhat was performed.
Today’s episode was hosted by HN Bhat and Sarla Bhat on the terrace of their house at Vasuki Vihar, Rajouri Lines. The neighbours and theatre lovers assembled on the terrace and watched the full on comedy play enacted beautifully by veteran artists Vinay Pandita, Rakesh Tickoo, Daisy Bazaz and Rahul Pandita.
Vomedh had staged its new play Mujrim Mein Nahi Par Mein Hi Hoon yesterday at Abhinav Theatre.
The theatre series helps people to watch live theatre in their vicinity and bond with each other like good old days to free themselves from the whirlpool of social media.
This is a path breaking concept to revive the old cultural neighbourhood bonding on the terrace and at the same time promoting art and culture, says Rohit Bhat, director Vomedh Rangmanch.
Rakesh Roshan Bhat, playwright feels that this concept would go a long way in promoting theatre in Jammu and also appreciated the artists of Vomedh who make all efforts to take the terrace series to different areas with dedication. Vomedh has received a lot of offers from different areas by theatre lovers to perform on their terrace where neighbours can join to watch the plays.
The “Terrace Theatre”, one of its first kind series in India has been conceived by senior journalist, social activist and actor King C Bharati, who is also a part of Vomedh theatre group alongwith Rakesh Roshan Bhat and Rohit Bhat.
