Vomedh releases Rakesh Roshan Bhat’s book of Kashmiri plays

JAMMU, Apr 4: Vomedh released the book of Rakesh Roshan Bhat, comprising of two of his famous plays ‘Chopayer Yee Gaash’ and ‘Gaad Bateh’.
Rakesh has written plays in Kashmiri and Hindi which have been hugely popular and have been staged in various cities of India. Both of these plays are satirical timeless comedies based on the issues of Kashmiri Pandits. The foreword of the book has been written by Padma Shri Balwant Thakur and Bollywood actor and theatre guru Lalit Parimoo. The book also includes commendations from other theatre personalities like M K Raina, Mushtaq Kak, Ravinder Kaul, Dr Sudhir Mahajan and Manzoor Ahmad Mir.
In the book release function, Prof Manoj Dhar, Vice Chancellor of Jammu University, was the chief guest while Sanjay Saraf, National Spokesperson of LJP, was the guest of honor. Prominent personalities Mushtaq Kak, Ravinder Kaul, Dr Sudhir Mahajan, Dr Agnishekhar Dr Ajay Chrungoo, Ramesh Hanglu, Ayash Arif, Amanjeet Aman, Bharti Kaul and parents of Rakesh were also present on the occasion.
Rohit Bhat, President Vomedh, expressed happiness that Vomedh got the opportunity to release of first book of Rakesh whose all plays Vomedh has staged across various cities in India.
Prof Manoj Dhar applauded the fact that Rakesh strengthened his connect with the roots by writing in his mother tongue Kashmiri also which is an inspiration for youth. It is very important to preserve and propagate ones mother tongue, he said.
Sanjay Saraf also appreciated the work done by Rakesh and Vomedh theatre group in the field of theatre and propagation of culture and language.
Rakesh, in his address, acknowledged the contribution of all the people who have been part of this journey in theatre till now especially the director Rohit Bhat and Vomedh team who have been instrumental in bringing his plays to life on stage.
On the occasion, Vomedh also felicitated the participants of its quarantine series with mementos.
