KARGIL, June 5: Volunteers and paramedics of dedicated COVID Hospital held protest here by maintaining social distancing.
The protesters alleged that there is sheer discrimination with the volunteers, paramedics and some doctors.
One the volunteer while talking to the Excelsior said that the administration is following two separate SOPs–one for the doctors who are tested positive and another for the general patients.
A doctor who was tested COVID positive has been isolated in a hotel and not in the COVID hospital, he said, adding that they have been deprived from basic amenities at the COVID hospital.
“No single officer visited the COVID hospital to enquire about the well being of the paramedics and volunteers who are working from the last many months”, he added.
Later, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Tsering Motup visited COVID hospital and talked to the paramedics and volunteers viz sorted out the issue.
Meanwhile, Dr Ibrahim Khan CMO Kargil said that the grievances of the paramedics and the volunteers have been sorted out and the doctor who was tested COVID positive has also been shifted to COVID hospital. He further said that the SOPs by the GoI is same for all.
