JAMMU, Feb 26: Governor N N Vohra chaired a meeting at the Raj Bhavan today to review security situation in the aftermath of the recent terrorist attacks in the Valley.
The meeting was attended by B R Sharma, Chief Secretary, Lt. General D S Hooda, GOC-in-C, Northern Command; K Rajendra Kumar, Director General of Police, J&K; Lt. General S K Dua, GOC XV Corps; P K Tripathi, Principal Secretary to Governor; R K Goyal, Home Secretary; Syed Javaid Mujtaba Gillani, IGP Kashmir and senior State and Central Intelligence officers.
Reiterating the crucial importance of very close coordination among all security forces, the Governor pointed to the need for adequate advance planning being done for ensuring effective maintenance of public order before, during and after the conduct of operations.
The meeting discussed the existing procedures for responding to terror attacks and also deliberated on other important issues relating to security management in the State.
It was decided to finalise certain approaches after intensive consultations with the Central Armed Para Military Forces, for which the Governor is fixing a further meeting.
