JAMMU, Nov 26: Vodafone India organised a “Health Walk” at Jammu University. The effort was to inspire the residents of Jammu to lead a healthier lifestyle which would enable them to live life to the fullest.
The initiative saw good participation from the Jammu populace who actively participated in this wonderful “Health Walk” organised by Vodafone.
Sharing his thoughts on the “Health Walk”, Asit Shekhar, Business Head, Punjab, HP and J&K, Vodafone India, said, “Through this Health Walk, our aim was to create public awareness about the importance of physical fitness and well-being. With the people of Jammu participating in good numbers, we are happy that this Health Walk has been successful in terms of sensitizing the populace of Jammu about the importance of healthy living”.
The “Health Walk” initiative began at Jammu University with a crisp introductory speech at 6:00 am. Following this, a light exercise and yoga session was organised for the residents of the city for which Vodafone had invited fitness and yoga experts at the venue to conduct the session. During this session, which lasted for 30 minutes, the participants were explained the benefits of regular physical exercise and yoga along with correct techniques for practicing the same.
Also, there was a 30-minute health check-up session where professional doctors conducted a routine medical check including a BP check. Post-medical checkup, the entire team of Vodafone officials, volunteers, doctors and the participants from Jammu’s populace proceeded for a walk inside the University Campus covering the entire periphery of the university.
During the walk, the participants interacted with the morning walkers they crossed on the way and promoted the message of physical exercise, yoga and routine medical check-ups, thereby taking this “Health Walk” initiative a step further.
Dean Student Welfare, Jammu University, Pankaj Srivastva conveyed special thanks to Vodafone for conducting such a wonderful activity in the University Campus and found it great to see so many people participating in this “Health Walk”.
