Vodafone awards scholarships to 39 students

SRINAGAR, Apr 17: In a first of its kind customer connect initiative by any Telecom company in Kashmir, Vodafone India, one of the India’s leading telecommunications service providers, has awarded token scholarship to 39 students of Valley having scored over 90 percent  marks in 10th and 12th Board Examinations for the Academic year 2012-13.
The programme has been instituted for the children of all existing and new Vodafone customers in the State.
Commenting on the scholarship programme, Asit Shekhar, Business Head, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and J&K, Vodafone India, said that Vodafone has always endeavoured to connect with its customers and delight them with its offerings, adding that the initiative is a part of our Vodafone Delight Programmes that aims to acknowledge and nurture excellence.
To participate in the scholarship programme, existing and new Vodafone customers were invited to submit an enrolment form providing the details of their child along with the copy of the marksheet at any Vodafone Store/Mini Store in the State.
All students scoring above 90 percent were assured an amount of Rs 1000 and highest scorer among them was entitled for a scholarship worth Rs 5000.
