JAMMU, May 27: Ongoing protest  of All J&K Village Level Workers (VLWs)/Multi Purpose Workers (MPWs)/ Clerical Cadre/ MGNREGA Workers Union, for the creation of Posts of Inspector Panchayat and to resolve the others demands, entered into  4th day on Sunday with holding of demonstrations   at all the district headquarters of Jammu division here.
The call for protest has been given by the Joint Co-ordination Committee of Union, which extended the stir upto May 30 after the failure of Government to positively respond to their demands.
Today, the agitating employees suspended their work and held demonstration amidst raising of slogans against the Government for its failure to redress the issues. These employees of RDD are demanding creation of Posts of Inspector Panchayat and Senior Assistant in the newly created 177 CD Blocks, removal of Pay Anomalies, regularization of MGNREGA staff, conduct of DPC of VLWs/MPWs across the State and reinstatements of the employees, suspended by the Minister during anti-polythene drive.
At Jammu, the protest dharna was lead by Om Parkash Sargotra (Chairman of Committee) and Rakesh Sharma (general secretary of the Union, at Directorate of Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj, Talab Tillo.
Om Parkash Sargotra, in his address, said that without creation of the posts of Inspector Panchayat in the newly created 177 CD Blocks, the SRO 311 could not be implemented in letter and spirit at grass root level. He further demanded that proper guidelines should be issued to Secretary Panchayats to lift the garbage and polythene from rural areas along with infrastructure and manpower.
Addressing the gathering, Rakesh Sharma demanded filling up of posts of Department BDOs and filling up of 50 per cent quota of Departmental feeding cadre. He also demanded the creation of posts of Senior Assistant in newly created Blocks, filling of vacant posts of Secretary Panchayats across the State, fully implementation of SRO 178, enhancement of grade pay and Field Travelling Allowance (FTA) from Rs 15 to Rs 3000 for smooth conduct of department.
Among others, who addressed the gathering, included Rajesh Dutta, Jagpal Panoch, Rakesh Thappa, Gourav Sharma, Mohd Yousaf Parrey, Ram Kishore and others.
The protesting employees also warned to go on indefinite strike if their demands and issues are not redressed at an earliest.
Similar, protest demonstrations were also held at all districts headquarters across Jammu province. .
Meanwhile, a delegation of Joint Co-ordination Committee of Union called on Minister for PHE Sham Choudhary and submitted a copy of memorandum of demands. The Minister assured that their genuine demands will be redressed at an earliest and he would take up the matter with concerned Minister and direct the Commissioner Secretary to resolve the issues at an earliest, so that general public of rural areas may not suffer more.
