JAMMU, May 12: VKC Nuts India Pvt Ltd of Jammu, a thoroughly “Home Grown Company of State”, has earned a coveted recognition as one of the “100 Emerging SME” companies in India and was awarded the “Prestigious Trophy” by Kalraj Misra, Union Minister for MSME, at a special event held recently in New Delhi.
The award was received by Gagan and his brother Gunjan Jain, the young entrepreneurs who are spearheading the growth in the family owned company under active guidance and participation of elders, their father Vijay Jain and uncle Shekhar Jain.
The selection for “Top 100”, out of about 42000 nationwide nominations was made by “SME Forum”, a well-known body of professionals engaged in promotion of SME companies which are India’s major contributor to GDP, Employment and Taxes.
A modest trading outfit, till mid nineties when “Kashmir Walnuts” was their primary business universe, VKC has grown into a fully integrated, multi location, multi product nuts and dried fruit company involved in exports, imports, shelling, processing, wholesale, industrial and branded sale of nuts, seeds and dried fruits, growing consistently at a CAGR of over 25% for the last two decades.
While the company has steadfastly nourished its roots in the State, it has also expanded its manufacturing and trading base beyond J&K through which it now serves Pan-India.
