JAMMU, Sept 15: On the eve of “Vishwakarma Jyanti”, Pradesh Vishwakarma Shaba (PVS) J&K organized a function at its headquarter Gurha (Bakshi Nagar) to honour the meritorious students and others who have excelled in their respective field.
The function was presided over by Shashi Verma, president of the Sabha while YP Barney (District Judge) was the chief guest on the occasion. Brigadier (Dr) Vijay Sagar Dheman, Kuldeep Raj Verma, Rashpal Verma (former Vice Chairmen, OBC Advisory Board) and RL Chargotra (vice president, Akhil Bhartiya Vishwakarma Mahasabha) were guests of honour.
Total 60 students were honoured on the occasion. These include meritorious students of 10th class– Khushi Verma from Kunjwani (96%), Himanshi Jaral (93%), Mayan Verma from Kathua (96%), Rahul Verma from Gerneri (96%), Suryanshi Verma (98%), Lakshdeep Sabharbal from RS Pura (96%), Vishavjeet Verma from Khour (93%), Khushi Verma from Planwala (85%), Sweta Verma from Ramgarh (92%), Pryanshu Verma from Majalta (96%) and Gagandeep from Samba (92%).
The meritorious students of 12 class were Avantika Verma (85%), Nikhil Virdhi from Samba (94%), Dheeraj Verma from RS Pura (94%), Pryanshu Verma (87%), Nitish Kumar from Ramgarh (90%), Anayana Brall (95%), Ayush Salgotra (90%), Shreya Verma (95%), Shakshi Verma (96%), Tanisha Verma from Khour (84%) and Nandani Kataria (84%).
Those who cracked KAS/KJS include Sahil Verma, Navdeep Sabharwal, Rashi Verma and Cheena Sumbria. Among graduates/post graduates were Roshni Salgotra for MSc (EVS), Mehak Devi from Katra for MA (Edu) with distinction, Rippan Pathania for his top position in BSc (Agri), Vaishali Devi from Arnia for her BSc with 83% marks.
Each of the honoured students was issued a “Certificate of Excellence” along with a memento.
A large number of Vishwakarma people including women and children from all over the Jammu province attended the programme.
Earlier in his welcome address, Balwant Kataria explained that such programmes go a long way in motivating and inspiring the youth for big achievements.
