JAMMU, May 22: Jammu and Kashmir Vishwakarma Sabha (Lohar-Tarkhan) Jammu has demanded adequate relief package in favour of ironsmiths, carpenters, plumbers, electrician, skilled labour etc and migrant labourers also, who have no other source of income except daily labour work to meet out day to day expenditures.
The demand was highlighted during the executive body meeting of the Sabha, under the chairmanship of Rakesh Kumar Verma, the president.
The Sabha strongly criticized the Central and UT Government for their role played against the working class, including migrant labour, during the COVID-19 lockdown. “The Central Government announced the package in favour of those people who are already sound financially and running the business thus creating division among the people on the analogy of castism,” said Rakesh Kumar Verma.
Alleging that the country was slipping back with reverse gear for bad days, instead of good days, Verma said that people were feeling suffocated due to anti-poor and pro-rich policies of the incumbent Government.
With these observations, the Sabha opined that there was no alternative other than to throw the present Government out of power, for which a united struggle is required. For the purpose, said the Sabha president, next course of action shall be declared soon.
The meeting was attended by Sat Pal Verma, G L Chanda, M L Chalotra, Rakesh Chalotra, Sandeep Dogra, Anil Kumar, Kartar Gandhi, Shashi Kumar, Mohinder Paul Verma, Ram Lal, Goldi Kumar, Yash Paul and Dharam Paul Kataria.
