Violation of MCI norms

Sir,
In blatant violation of the Medical Council of India (MCI) norms the doctors possessing degrees in Unani, Ayurvedic or Homeopathic system of medicines are practicing illegally Allopathic system in the Govt hospitals and private clinics, of the valley at the cost of the heath of gullible patients, even the chemists are prescribing drugs illegally to poor, uneducated patients, in rural areas, chemists are posing as doctors, thereby endangering patients life. A person working as sweeper, nursing orderly,  nurses or multipurpose worker etc is practising Medicine at chemists shop in their localities in the morning and evenings. The Indian System of medicine (ISM) doctors know little about the formula, mode of action and dosage of the allopathic medicines so prescribing the same may prove harmful for any patient any time. As per medical ethics,  a medico has to strictly prescribe only those drugs in which he is holding valid degree and a registration, (a BUMS doctor cannot prescribe Allopathic drugs). Govt must start, Jan Ausudhi drug stores (cheaper generic drug stores, but only those drugs should be kept available which are from reputed manufacturers and have undergone prior quality assurance check) at every Govt health installation, (Inventory and dispensing  must be inbuilt). There should be sufficient monitoring staff with specialized legal backup and discretionary powers at tehsil level, to check, whether good prescribing practices and good dispensing practices are followed.
Yours etc….
Dr Rashid
