UDHAMPUR, Aug 27: Locals of village Balian, Karal, Tund and Thanot today held a protest demonstration demanding immediate shifting of the wine shop from the area.
The protesting people raised slogans in support of their demand and warned to intensify their struggle if the wine shop is not shifted from the area. “The wine shop of Ballian is situated in centre of the village and the public, especially woman, school going children are suffering badly due to this menace. Further, there is a primary school, around 500 meter from the wine shop, which is also hardly 50 meter from the National Highway, which is again a clear violation of Supreme Court order, the villagers explained.
The protest demonstration was addressed by Manmohan Rana (Sarpanch Balian), Gian Singh, Mohinder Kumar, Swarn Gupta, Sushma Devi, Reeta Devi, Reeta Devi, Geeta Devi, Ranjna Devi and Guddu Devi.
