UDHAMPUR, May 5: Aggrieved over worst condition of the road from Udhampur to Pakhlai, locals protested against, Public Works Department (PWD), R&B, here today.
Shouting slogans, the protesting villagers were demanding repair and black topping of the road. They said that due to worst condition of the 19- km road and big pits on it, minibuses and buses do not ply on the route and people are facing manifold problems, but no action by the district administration and PWD department was being taken to repair the road.
Locals of village Pakhlai, Charat, Dhandhar, Keara, and adjoining area took part in the protest demonstration. They raised slogans against the district administration and PWD. They threatened to gherao the offices of PWD and district administration if no immediate action is taken by the concerned authorities.
