UDHAMPUR, July 30: Villagers of Dhanwalt today protested against the extremely bad condition of under construction road of PMGSY from Ramnagar to Sunetar Khass- Dhanu- Dhanwalt.
The protestors raised slogans against the PMGSY Department and urged the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for his attention towards plights of these poor villagers.
“The PMGSY Department is delaying completion of this road even after three years since commencement of the work,” they said, adding that the only 60 percent work has been completed.
The villagers further said that repeated complaints were registered before the PMGSY Department for completion of the road but no action was taken by the concerned authorities.
“Condition of road is so bad that we can’t even smoothly walk on it and it is not possible for sick old persons or pregnant women to reach Sub District Hospital Ramnagar and District Hospital Udhampur. There are large pits on the road inviting accidents and during the rainy days, the road remains virtually closed because of mud on it,” they said.
The protesting villagers threatened to gherao the PMGSY officials and also the district administration if the road work is not completed at the earliest.
