MENDHAR, Mar 12: The people of Panchayat Ari in Tehsil Mendhar today held protest demonstration against the Rural Development Department and blocked Mendhar- Surankote road for two hours.
The locals of the area said that since 2017-18, PMAY surveys were conducted in the village, in which the last list was issued. It was told that people will be provided houses under the housing scheme, but till date they were not given any such benefit.
The people accused the department and said that when they go to the employees and officers of the RDD, then they are told that the list is not complete. They sought the intervention of Director RDD Jammu and Lieutenant Governor and action against the officers responsible for their victimization.
SHO Mendhar, Manzoor Kohli, reached the spot, talked to the protesting people and got the road cleared.
