MENDHAR, Jan 14: The villagers from Chhatral- Kalaban held protest against PHE authorities as the water supply to over 300 families of the area has been snapped for the last about four months.
The villagers raised slogans against the PHE authorities and District Administration. They alleged that motor at the local pumping station went out of order about 4-5 months back and till today, the concerned PHE staff has failed to restore water supply to Upper Chhatral. Nearly 300 families have been badly hit. The people are carrying water on the horses’ back or themselves from the natural water sources located away from the village.
They wanted to throng PHE Sub Division office at Mendhar or Division office at Poonch if the water supply is not restored within four days.
