UDHAMPUR, Dec 6: Locals of Dabreh today protested against worst condition of under construction PMGSY road from village Dabreh to Kred in Udhampur District.
The protesting villagers raised slogans against the PMGSY Department and appealed the Governor’s administration to address their grievance.
This 9, 35 km long road from Dabreh to Kred (Package number JK14-412) under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), was to be completed by March 2017 but ever after spending the sanctioned amount of Rs 523.04 lakh, the work is incomplete.
The villagers alleged that despite repeated complaints by the locals to PMGSY department and even in Mari Sadak app, there was no action. The present condition of the road is so bad that one can’t even walk smoothly while for sick old persons and pregnant women, going to Udhampur District Hospital is risk to their lives, they added. There are large potholes on the road inviting accidents while school going children are worst sufferers as the road remains closed during rainy days.
