UDHAMPUR, July 27: To highlight their demands for construction of road and also shortage of school teachers, a deputation of the inhabitants of Thata village, led by Swaran Singh, called on MLA Udhampur Pawan Gupta.
The villagers explained that to reach their village, they have to cross Tawi river from Toldi village near National Highway, which is very risky, particularly during these rainy days and many times people have lost their lives during crossing over Tawi.
Swaran Singh also informed that the R&B Department was violating the original survey of the Thata road, sanction by MLA Pawan Gupta, resulting into its diversion to another village
Pawan Gupta took a serious notice of the matter and immediately called the concerned authorities for seeking a clarification. The MLA also gave instructions to the authorities of R&B Department to prepare a proposal for the construction of bridge over Tawi river. He also issued necessary instructions to the authorities of Education Department to depute sufficient staff in Government school of Thata village.
The deputation comprised of Dharm Chand Sharma, Jagdev Singh, Sham Singh, Sandal Singh, Shanker Singh, Chiragdin, Mohd. Rashid, Sansar Singh, Rattan Singh, Sunita Devi, Sandya Devi, Neelima Devi and Anita Devi.
