JAMMU, Sept 22: Vikram Malhotra, general secretary, Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) kick-started blacktopping work at Tange Wali Gali in Ward No. 1, Jammu East Constituency here today.
The Tange Wali Gali was in dilapidated condition for a quite long time and inhabitants of the area had highlighted the same several times.
The funds required for the development work estimated at Rs. 1.50 lakh have been provided by Amrit Malhotra, Chairman, Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Council, from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
Speaking on the occasion, Vikram Malhotra, said that civic amenities need to be maintained for public welfare and efforts have to be made from time to time for their proper upkeep.
He also said that the blacktopping work was urgently required as the lane (Tange Wali Gali) got damaged from various places and people of the area raised this demand before him.
“Although this work has been started now, but if there will be some other civic related problems being faced by the people of the area, funds will be arranged for the same any time,” Vikram Malhotra said.
Prominent among those present were Vinay Sharma, Sunny Singh, Shuma, Rajneesh, Rinku (Daljeet Singh), Raju, Sushant and others.
