BANIHAL, Dec 8: Minister of State for Technical Education (Independent Charge), Power, CAPD, RDD and Information, Vikar Rasool Wani today laid foundation stone of general bus stand Banihal to be constructed by PWD with an approximate cost of about Rs 1.47 crore. He announced one passenger shed and 2 toilet complexes for the general public at the bus stand.
While addressing a huge gathering, he said that traffic jam in Banihal is the biggest problem for the general public and to have a bus stand in Banihal is the long pending demand of the general masses which has been solved by laying a foundation stone.
He enumerated the achievements on socio economic fronts that have taken place during his tenure in the remote and far flung areas of Banihal. He further added that several projects have been started for the overall and equitable development of the rural and remote areas of the Banihal. He further said that several new road projects including Itoonar-Darshipura road, Kuthal-Harwara road, Bankoot- Gujjarnar road, Nachilana- Manjos road have been taken up in the current year plan to ensure the connectivity of these remote and far flung areas with the National Highway. He further added that 33 bridges have also been completed so far.
He apprised the people about other various initiatives which have helped in bringing developmental revolution in all sectors such as power, roads, health, education, lanes- drains, food etc in the Banihal area.
He exhorted upon the people to avail maximum benefits from the various centrally sponsored schemes such as MGNREGA, PMGSY, NRHM, Food Security Bill etc. He further said that Govt is committed to provide all basic facilities to the rural people at their doorsteps.
