SAMBA, Feb 26: Vijaypur Police has started investigation in a theft case at a marriage hall, opposite Thandi Khoi ahead of Vijaypur National Highway in Samba district on February 5 where a lady was reportedly duped of her golden and diamond ornaments which were kept in the room of a marriage hall where she had come to attend a wedding ceremony.
The lady namely Avanty Sopori of Gurgaon, Haryana who had come to participate in the marriage ceremony of one of her relatives had kept the ornaments packed in the room of the marriage hall and herself accompanied the Barat to another marriage hall in the same area. After return from Barat when she opened the bag she found one of her pouches containing gold and diamond ornaments missing.
The lady raised the alarm and informed one of the care takers of the premises. The staff of the marriage hall also assembled and assured her that they will get the same traced. However till date nothing has been done.
The Vijaypur Police has registered the FIR number 30/2018 U/S 457/380 in this regard and appointed Sub Inspector Joginder Singh to take up the investigation of the case.
