SAMBA, June 12: The Ward 10 and 11 of Vijaypur in Samba district have plunged into darkness after the transformers developed a snag some days back putting people to many hardships in this hot and humid Summer.
The inhabitants of the area have demanded proper checking on load and regularization of all ACs which are being used without paying the power tariff to the Department. They said the Department should penalize such consumers who are involved in power theft at the cost of common masses failing which the people will come to streets and protest.
Meanwhile, the transformer at Gurah Morh also burnt down this evening plunging the area into darkness. The people have urged the PDD to restore the transformer immediately and also maintain a proper check on the load.
